Thanks to its location, Bibione is an ideal starting point to discover the beautiful North-East of Italy. In just a few hours, you can reach cities rich in history and culture such as Venice, Trieste, Verona, Padua, Aquileia, Palmanova and Portogruaro. You can reach Venice by both boat and train (and also by car) and this really is an unmissable destination. For lovers of archaeology, it's possible to visit the Roman remains in Concordia Sagittaria and Aquileia, only a few kilometres away. Trieste, Verona and Padua are interesting days-out as an alternative to the beach. For those who can't resist shopping, the nearby outlets in Noventa di Piave and Palmanova give you the chance to buy designer clothes at exceptional prices. The eastern area of the resort, near to the centre and reachable also on foot, runs alongside the mouth of the Tagliamento river and is another interesting place to visit, with its free area of beach and pine forest. Moving instead towards the west of the resort, it's possible to reach Bibione's pine forest, the Vallesina woods and Val Grande. Val Grande is a nature park featuring a splendid lagoon-like habitat separating the island from the mainland; it's possible to visit Val Grande on one of the many organised excursions that go there.
